Shop Pockets® was founded in 1998 by Michael Frank, who’s been an HVAC and refrigeration business owner for over 20 years.
After years of using tool belts the constant strain on his back, shoulders and hips, caused him to look for a better way for tool management and ways to carry tools with less body aches.
He tried padded tool belts and suspenders. Then he switched to tool vests, which helped, but he realized there was a lot of room for improvement. After several years of aches and pains, discomfort and disorganization, he knew there had to be a better way.
Shop Pockets was born!

Since 1998, we’ve had your back
Michael’s goal is and always has been to make a vest that’s durable, comfortable, functional and as versatile as possible.
Michael invented the ‘Shop Pockets Vest’ hoping to help save his own back and that of fellow tradesman. His purpose was to try and keep the weight distributed evenly across the shoulders and chest area to avoid strain on the lower back and hips.
Over the years as Michael and his tradesman wore the vest, he redesigned areas trying to make it the most unique and helpful vest on the market. The patented adapter was designed to eliminate the tool belt and to work with any tool pouch. Tool pouches can be easily twist-locked on and off the vest in seconds.
The expander was designed so you could enlarge the size of the vest for heavier clothing in cold climates.
We’ve heard back from many tradesman on their appreciation of the breathable, lightweight mesh vest.

Easily remove items from the chest pocket and use the zipper closing to keep credit cards and cash secure. The velcro securely adheres to the vest.
